Dr. Matt Mishkind is a Research Psychologist/Program Manager in the Clinical Telehealth (cTH) Division of the National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2), serving as a subject matter expert in telemental health. Dr. Mishkind also works toward continued development of a DoD telemental health network through relevant policies, future planning, data-based decision making, training and education, and the advancement of innovative solutions through pilot programs.
Dr. Mishkind has focused on developing standards to deliver safe and efficacious care to clinically unsupervised settings. This includes research on delivering clinical telemental health services to patients’ homes as well as to other non-traditional settings such as specially modified shipping containers and other mobile platforms.
Prior to joining cTH, Dr. Mishkind led research projects for the Behavioral Health Service (BHS) at Madigan Army Medical Center, managing diverse teams studying technology’s role in behavioral health, including risk factors for military suicide; prolonged exposure therapy for soldiers with PTSD; and the degree of acceptance of technology in military behavioral health treatment.
Dr. Mishkind received both his Ph.D. and M.A. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Vermont, and holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
